About The Author
In over 50 yeas in business I have noticed one key fact about successful people and outstanding companies... they have uncommonly uncluttered, organized, offices and shops.
I once golfed with a lawyer and after every shot he would put the head coves on the woods and his irons. I said, "Harvey, are you this neat at your office?" He said, "Yes, remember in law that the loss of a piece of paper can mean the loss of a case!"

About the Authors and Advisors of the Course
This quarter we spotlight Mel Manishen, a distinguished member of the My Own Business, Inc. Board of Advisors (our Hall of Wisdom). Mr. Manishen is one of Canada's most experienced entrepreneurs and a pioneer in the design of automated devices for machinery and metalworking shops. His firm, Empire Sheet Metal Manufacturing Company of Winnipeg, became the first sheet metal company in Canada to employ robotics in the fabrication of duct and pipe.

A new addition to the web site is the introduction within the text of some products and services that we feel are a benefit to our users and which will expand on the information we have provided. Frequently Asked Questions Department
Why don't the sound byte speakers work?
The sound byte speakers are best received with a high speed (DSL, etc.) connection. However, the sound bytes have been transcribed for reading.
What is the biggest mistake people make in viewing this course?
Many viewers do not take the course in its entirety. There are pitfalls explained in all 12 sessions that a serious entrepreneurs needs to know about.

I recently started a small computer manufacturing company. I build and assemble all the parts myself. But I am stuck with one problem: I don't have any customers. It is a web based company and I cannot find any good (cheap) resource for getting interested customers to my website.

What we see working best for you is referrals. Hand out business cards and
always ask friends and customers to refer you to their associates. Many people
build their entire client base off referrals. Also, network with any associates you know that have websites and develop links with them. Exchanging links will help you gain prevalence on search engines as well as create additional avenues for uses to find your business. Make sure your website is search engine friendly and then submit it to the top search engines. Keep adding useful content to your site to keep it fresh and up-to-date.
