Nancy Robert Ph.D.

Nancy Robert Nancy Robert received a 21st Century Learning Innovator award from the American Society for Training and Development. She believes learning is significantly impacted by personal beliefs and that future technology platforms should facilitate the integration of cognitive knowledge and belief factors into individual learning approaches. Her doctoral research explores self-efficacy and knowledge processing beliefs, and investigates how these factors can advance the development of technology driven learning tools.

Nancy is the founder of Leovision, a consulting company that delivers product marketing and product development services to education, health care and technology organizations. She is a member of The Woodlands Group, a 25 year-old organization that explores learning and organizational development innovations. As a component of professional development and community service, the 20 member group occasionally provides pro-bono consulting services to entities such as the Cherokee Nation, the City of Atlanta, and the Whidbey Institute.

Concerned about inequalities in digital access, technology learning opportunities, and 21st century community outcomes, from 1996 to 2000 Nancy served as Chairman of The Digital Clubhouse Network (DCN), a non-profit dedicated to using the power of digital technology to build better communities. The DCN is internationally recognized for its digital literacy programs that use storytelling as a catalyst to engage local communities in intergenerational learning and community development. The DCN’s Digital Storytelling projects are archived in the Smithsonian Institute Permanent Research Collection at the National Museum of American History.

As an executive for Tele-TV (a former division of Verizon) and Sprint Corporation, she led initiatives for the development and launch of new technology innovations such as interactive television, multimedia internet, Scan Phone, interactive voice response systems and a variety of data applications serving small to medium sized business segments. She served as Technology Chair for the Bay Area Multimedia Global Alliance, a NASA and private sector global technology transfer initiative. Nancy was selected to participate in Leadership America, a national organization that recognizes, educates and connects accomplished and diverse women to increase their individual and collective impact globally. She is a former Trustee of Southwestern Ohio Senior’s Services and served as a board member for @Learning Corporation.

Her community projects include work supporting Americans Communicating Electronically, the 4-H Youth Technology program and women’s professional network initiatives.
